The best way to travel around Rome is via the tram. Just a short journey into the city centre makes it worth staying on the outskirts to get the full italian experience of small coffee stops, bakeries and amazing pizza restaurants that are just too touristy in the city centre.
The most important relic to see while visiting Rome is the colosseum where ancient roman battles took place. The colosseum is full of an amazing sense of history and wonder. And if you plan ahead, the first sunday of the month all tourist attractions, cultural sites and museums are free!
Wandering through quiet places on the outskirts of Rome can lead to stumbling upon some interesting geometric designs.
The whole trip was made worth it by one visit to the Vatican city and to see the Sistine Chapel. The beautiful paintings and designs are so breathtaking. I would recommend spending a lot of time in here. Respectibally there is not photography allowed in the Sistine Chapel so you will have to visit yourself to see it! Oh, and remember to dress accordingly.
And lastly, even the average block of flats looks incredible. I would definitely recommend taking a stroll through every alleyway.
