The mountain range at Andøya was impressive, hugh sharp peaks suitable for protecting the surroundings from any potential rocket launch incidents. On top of these mountains was the ALOMAR observatory which uses the lidar technique to observe the upper atmosphere. The milky way provided the most beautiful backdrop for this picture.
Luckily, I was able to get some pictures of the northern lights on one of the last nights there and I spent 3-4 hours just watching the sky along the coastline.
